Part 2 of the studio work sharing is a game concept with Chinese historical figure Xiang Yu (項羽) as the theme, together with his lover, Yu Ji (虞姬) as secondary emphasis.
For this theme, I was given the chance to experiment with the art direction, from pure painting to as far as picking up Blender to create the character with vertices and different rendering.
In the end 2D was decided, and so I proceeded to produce icon/symbols proposal, several revision were generated for the adjustment of consistency in the aspect of concept relevancy and treatment.
Then, we worked on in-game backgrounds. The main game is always the focus, and there is what I showed. But usually there will be more to be prepared as there are feature(s) designed for respective games.
Finally, title and assets with promotional purpose in mind are conceptualized. For former, it is shown last and for latter, it would be the full-body illustration shown together with the art direction.
